Maltipoo Breed Overview

Find the Right Maltipoo Puppy for Your Family

The Maltipoo is a small hybrid created by crossing a Maltese with a Poodle. Adult Maltipoos often weigh 5–20 pounds and stand approximately 8–14 inches tall. Adult size can vary based on the Poodle parent and each puppy’s development.

Affectionate, intelligent, and playful, Maltipoos often form strong bonds with their human companions. They typically respond well to positive training, consistent routines, and engaging activities. Some may become uncomfortable when left alone for extended periods. Individual personalities and training needs can vary.

Their compact size and adaptable personality can suit apartments, smaller homes, and houses with yards. Maltipoos do not need a large yard, but they still require daily activity and mental stimulation. Short walks, indoor games, training sessions, and supervised play can help meet those needs.

Their coats may be soft, wavy, or curly and are often low-shedding. Frequent brushing and professional grooming help prevent tangles and keep their coats manageable. Routine dental, ear, and nail care should also be included.

Maltipoos commonly live 12–15 years, although individual health and longevity vary. They may inherit health concerns from either parent breed. Prospective owners should discuss preventive care and breed-related concerns with a veterinarian.

For families prepared to provide grooming, training, activity, and companionship, a Maltipoo can be a loving addition. Review our health guarantee and puppy training information before deciding.
